(Still under construction.) Name: Helena Alys Neverwinter Nickname: Lena, Gingie, Carrot Top, Ginger Ninja, Erica the Red, Weird Helena Age: 17 Gender: Female, Species: Hybrid Nordic Werewolf/Leviathanite Demon Helena has ended up hybridized genes. It appears to have given her some of the strengths, and weaknesses, of both species. -Sunlight: Hel doesn't like sunlight much, but she doesn't burst into flames. She does however get sunburned and dazzled quite easily in the sun. -Lycan Regeneration: Helena can't heal at the speed of a werewolf, and has less resilience toward damage, though her berserker status means she can still hold her own. Injury tends to hit her harder afterwards however. -Blood: She becomes unwell if she doesn't drink blood, and needs to drink fairly frequently to remain healthy. -Wolf Form: Having werewolf and infernal genes, Helena's wolf form is a strange, and terrifying looking thing. It is extremely strong and fast, and has incredible jaw strength, however as she lacks the werewolf regeneration that normally protects wolves during their changes, she find the changes painful and traumatic, so tries to avoid it. Ethnicity: White European, of Norwegian origin primarily. Neverwinter is the eventual anglicanized term for the older name Nørrevinter. Height: 5'3 Weight: 132lbs Orientation: Straight, as far as she knows.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION :Helena is a young woman who does not appear very dangerous at a glimpse. The opposite in fact. While her family often ended up quite tall and statuesque, Helena turned out an unintimidating 5'3. Her build is slim, with light curves on the hips and chest rather than any defined muscle and her face is heart-shaped and girlish, with a set of wide, blue-grey eyes. She has a mop of untidy, red hair, which falls for her lower back. She has very pale skin that is quite prone to burning. There is little to indicate her destructive capacity.
PERSONALITY Unorthodox would be the polite way to describe Hel....weird would be the less polite way. She appears a bit peculiar. Many sat that Helena seems to live in a world of her own, and in a way that could be said to be true. Helena does not view the world like others do, and her reactions are often seen as inappropriate by those around her. Her behaviour is often thought of as weird, though does seem to follow some sort of logic…in Helena’s mind at any rate…it just tends not to be a level of logic that anyone else has ever encountered before. She tends to be rather morbid, something which puts people off her often. Getting past the initial strangeness of the young woman, she is a pleasant, highly intelligent individual. She appreciates the friendship of others, even if it’s not always openly visible, and is very dedicated to those that she is close to. She tends to let her mind wander frequently, and doesn’t often commit to things, but when she does she becomes quite the force to be reckoned with, both physically and mentally. She pursues things with a dogged determination that can be both impressive and unnerving. Unlike her mother, Helena is not too easily moved into fighting. She tends to put up with a great deal before losing her temper. That being said, when pushed too far, Hel’s temper is completely explosive, and usually results in something getting broken….hopefully something inanimate. Helena doesn’t tend to talk about the nature of her parentage. If she ever dwells on it, she’s never told anybody. As far as she’s concerned, Grant Neverwinter is her dad and Kora Neverwinter is her mom, and that is that. She is something of a daddy’s girl, and goes to her father for help with things quite a lot. She and Kora tend to get along well, though with two berserkers in close proximity they do tend to have their moments.
PERSONAL HISTORY Helena is the eldest child and heir to the Neverwinter family, a prominent supernatural family that claim to descend from one of Odin's wolves. Regarded in some ways as the 'nobility' among the nordic wolf packs, The Neverwinters are famed warriors and the source of the 'berserkers' from historical documents. One of the viking terms 'ulfheonar' meaning 'men in wolf skin' originates from this. The 'berserkrgaang' power that runs in the family is seen as the blessing of Odin, and as such the children born with this ability are declared to be the heir to the leadership of the family. As such, they are obliged to have children. This is particularly notable as those born with the berserker ability have a very short lifespan. The restricted gene pool of the nordic wolves, the historical reluctance to breed with 'skraelingar' (foreigners) and the very intensive selective breeding to create better warriors has eroded the natural hardiness and longevity of the wolves, and the berserkers seem to have extensive genetic disorders which has weakened their blood vessels and caused them to degrade, meaning most have a life expectancy of somewhere in their thirties. When it was discovered that the latest heir, Kora Neverwinter had had a child, plenty in the werewolf community took interest. Interest turned to scandal when it turned out that while she had a werewolf mate, the child was not full wolf, and was, in fact, a half-breed. |
