Well no one's used this thread area yet and i'd been meaning to so here I am!
Looking for opinions and such, things that do't make sense I can work on elaborating, I will take criticisms but I'm pretty sure the general rule is not to be a jerk about it! ^.^ (I would LOVE to hear what you have to say, since it's always a WIP!)
BASIS:
- MECHANICALLY REANIMATED SOLDIERS UNIVERSE
There were terrorists and country conflict, and casualties were high. A large atomic bomb was dropped. The blast radius was huge, and many towns lied on the small ring of those affected that may still have lived through it. This blast, in general, was not the only one, but it was the biggest and put an end to some of the main conflicts, but never all of them.
A new conflict may have even sprouted because of it, (Beyond the massive controversy that comes with the mass murder of millions with a bomb). Soon after the blast, some organizations send in retriever robots to find and bring back those who survived the blast under the rubble, those in terrible shape that would not have survived otherwise. Those with missing limbs, head trauma, paralysis, all these were gathered up for a side project that caused a massive uproar with the public when revealed. They had been taking the injured and forgotten, and rebuilding them for use in enforcement and law. The near apparent slavery of these people, including those who no longer possessed rational brain function, was nearly seen by all as inhumane. They argued, however, that these people owed their lives to their corporation, and owed them. Not many people believed in that particular statement.
The robotic, and sometimes grotesque figures that came out of this process were indeed effective at maintaining order in the streets and stood as a grueling reminder of what causing trouble could do, a kind of intimidation. It worked, but many rose against it. Activist groups rose up and started to 'Anesthetize' these 'horrifying attempts at playing god'. They massacred hundreds of these people, but not all of them were mindless or stupid and many assumed. They separated themselves from their origins and roamed away as outcasts still wary of those that would seek to 'end their suffering'. Some went out to follow their more violent programming/conditioning and became mercenaries, and good ones at that.
Manufactured for battle and destruction, the blast survivors came to earn a reputation for being dangerous and the meaning of 'human weapon'. Their often animal-like 'enhancements' often giving them a predatory air. This could rather make life hard for the more docile ones. They may come in groups or alone, but they were around, and not always welcomed.
One variant of these soldiers or ‘weapons’ in particular are the RACs (Reanimated Automated Corpses). These were created later in the project out of those who were already dead and found. Not wanting to waste their ‘resources’, the most mechanical and inhuman of their creations was manufactured. They are colloquially referred to as ‘turtles’ since they posses an armored shell on their backs and in many other places to replace the useless tissues, and a faceless mask which has become a symbol for many anti-automated-soldier rebellion groups as the ‘modern zombie’.
Many propaganda posters have come into existence for both sides of the controversy, and several groups of renegade Mechanized people have come into being to try to rise up for their own rights and place in society, since not all places and cities allow them to be there, let alone sleep anywhere or buy anything. several figureheads have risen up, such named as Macaw, trimate, and Shark. Those who cannot recall their identities and names, or were unidentifiable from being found typically go by a name relevant to their appearances.
