Name: Mark Mywords
Nickname: Markie, Markie-Mark
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: Mutated human
Height: 5'6ish, going on 5'7
Weight: 155 lbs.
Orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Reporter for Magazine
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Mark has papery skin, which is as white as snow. His eyes are a scribbly black, and his mouth is literally a scribble, as well as his hair, which is ALWAYS messy. He's a bit chubby, and he has too much hair (pretty much everywhere but his chest, much to his chagrin). If he doesn't shave twice a day, he'll grow a beard before he goes to bed. Not a big one, but a beard nevertheless. He often wears his usual reporter 'uniform', which consists of his trusty black trilby, a black vest and pants, a white dress shirt, and a stupid tie that looks like a pencil.
PERSONALITY
Normal: Cheerful, happy-go-lucky, Mark is pretty friendly and loves to crack jokes and make references to anything he possibly can. He loves weird things, and as a result is seen as the 'weirdo' of the group. Though he's a bit suspicious of people, he gets over it once he's sure he can trust them. Generally, he's an 'All-American Boy', and is rather noble when he's presented with the opportunity. Other times, though, he can be a little creepy (i.e. when he's stalking Guye and taking pictures through his window). He's not particularly fond of doctors (even though he's dating one). He loves the Twilight Zone, eats nothing but microwaved meals, and takes pictures constantly but always hoards them. He's kind of a nerd too, and enjoys going on the Internet waaay too much, but oddly enough, he seems to be living in the past in a way because of the weird, outdated appliances he has in his apartment and the weird 1930's slang he ALWAYS uses.
Off of his medicine: Extremely paranoid, to the point where he cut one of his loved ones with a knife to make sure he wasn't a robot or an alien clone (it was a tiny cut, but a cut nevertheless). He doesn't trust a soul, and it literally takes someone forcing him down to get him to take his medicine again because he claims it has cyanide in it, which the doctors use to slowly kill him. Because he is a paranoid schizophrenic, he'll sometimes hear things, though he's never had visual hallucinations. He is so paranoid that he won't eat or sleep or drink out of fear that someone will do something to him, making him a danger to both himself and others.
PERSONAL HISTORY
After the disappearance of his mother, Mark was raised by his father in a tiny apartment in the city. Because his mother never returned for whatever reason, he relied solely on his father for advice and care. However, his father, despite having served in the war, which brought in quite a bit of money for the both of them, often had to work on the side. Because a babysitter really wasn't in their budget, that meant Mark was often alone at their apartment, doors locked, watching movies from the 1930's for hours on end.
By the time elementary school came around, Mark finally had somewhere to go instead of staying home. His father put him in Boy Scouts, and there, he learned a multitude of things he's still proud of to this day. Elementary school was also where he met Delic, another kid whose parents practically abandoned at home, and Flick, an odd little boy who didn't talk at all for a few years. It wasn't until he was told about Flick's brief singing career and his stage fright that he realized why, though.
High school came, and the friends grew apart. Mark went to various science clubs after school, Delic hung out with the stoners and the druggies, and Flick became popular.
It wasn't until college that they all reconnected. Working as an intern for a magazine, Mark was called in to interview a rising young band - a band that was managed by Flick, and that starred Delic and Viny. Elated, they finally became friends again.
Until in the very beginning of his college career, his father developed Alzheimer's. He had to drop out of school to care for him, but after he realized he couldn't, not alone, he was forced to pay for a live-in guardian for his father. That, coupled with the fact that he was already a broke college student, nearly left him homeless.
Luckily, his cousin Leslie pitched in and helped him out. Now, he still works at the magazine and is doing his best to return to school.
However, working at the magazine brought an unintended side-effect. After Leslie married Guye, who soon became the president, Mark's paranoia came into play. The government was evil, he knew it, and since Guye was the head of said government, HE was evil. He needed to be stopped. And thus began Mark's stalking, which brought several restraining orders and several nights in jail. Flick tried to get him to stop by threatening to stop picking him up and bailing him out when he got in trouble, and it worked.
For now, at least.
At his magazine job, where less-than-credible stories are published (which caused trouble whenever Mark tried to tell the truth for once), he became friends with the editor, Tim Burr, and another reporter, Sue Denym. Briefly, Mark dated Sue, but when she turned out to be nothing but a gold-digger, he left her and met Ray. A doctor, Mark was initially put off by his occupation, but quickly grew to be friends with him. Then, Ray revealed that he actually had two personalities - Ray, and his less-morally-upright side, Tyrone. Though it was a bit strange at first, Mark grew to love them both.
Until they drugged him on Valentine's day and cut him open, just for giggles.
Trust betrayed, he left the doctor and avoided him for an entire year until, at last, the doctor managed to apologize. Mark reluctantly forgave him, but even now they're struggling. Mark's paranoia just didn't want to let him trust Ray/Tyrone. Not after what they did.
