Name:{on file, Birthname.} Phillip Morrison Nickname: {Post Change Preference} Gin. Age: 20 Gender: Male Species: Human/Navigator Ethnicity: Country of Origin: Canada Height: 6'4 if standing Weight: 130 lbs Orientation: Gayish Occupation: Navigator Play-by: PLAY-BY
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION From human to Navigator the physical transformation is quite immense, hair is lost, and skin becomes greyish green, their body becomes very light. They gain a fishy like appearance tentacles growing from their elongated skulls, and a face that seems to have lost much of it's humanness. Many people find the changed form bizarre, vulgar. Though what they lack in body size is made up in head size.
PERSONALITY All Navigators have an aloof, beyond the world attitude, it doesn't help they can't really speak except through specialized hologram programs based upon their former appearance. Gin is especially distant, finding very little use in the program or interactions with his crew, they can request locations and planets, all via impersonal means. Gin prefers to live without himself, as most Navigators traversing the stars with their minds and souls.
PERSONAL HISTORY Born Philip Morrison, his father and mother were both military, and as space travel evolved faster and faster soon there was need of far better methods of navigating, a planet gave them the answer, a strange sandy-liquid substance that changed human brains into ones capable of fully comprehending the routes through space. This couple with extraordinary engines that could rend the very fabric of space to tear holes into slipspace meant they needed someone who could find a perfect way to get through slipspace. The Navigators were perfect for this. |
Candidates for the program were choses through high academic scores, rigorous physical tests and a variety of other ruthless factors. Phillip got high marks, and his family's military history didn't hurt. Two other kids from his class along with him were selected to become Navigators, they underwent many small doses of the substance to test their reaction eventually leading to the full submersion of their bodies into the substance, and thus into the tanks they would live the rest of their lives. Their images saved as a hologram for interactions between crew and Navigator. Gin was assigned to "First Class" the earliest ranking.
He was moved to the ship called the Borealis, a simple transport ship shuttling supplies back and forth between the planets, it's a limited job. It's certainly not flattering but being in space is beyond all where he wants to be. Traversing the fabric of the universe it was simply natural at this point. Near forgetting humanity. Well though they consistently interrupted his revels in the stars.
